Lotus Flower - radiohead

       在"The King of Limbs"這張專輯裡面, 我最喜歡的就是這首歌. MTV是Thom的獨舞, 雖然手腳很不協調, 但別有一番樂趣. 原本以為看完歌詞, 可以更了解這首歌一點點, 但並沒有. Thom曾在訪問中說明這首歌是關於"The magic of losing yourself in music", 如果這麼解釋的話, 一切倒是可以變得很直白, 包含那支手舞足蹈的MTV, 讓人失去自我, 甘願任其擺布的正是radiohead的音樂.

      那為什麼是"Lotus flower"呢? 我覺得這個意象是來自希臘神話"奧德賽" (剛好我最近在看希臘歷史, 看到這段, 呵). 在奧德賽到處流浪的過程中, 他們經過一座小島, 那個小島上盛產蓮花, 吃了蓮子以後會陷入恍惚的狀態, 只想一直吃下去. 奧德賽費了一番力氣才把他的船員拖離這座小島. 所以"Lotus flower"其實代表上癮的狀態, 不論是對音樂, 或是愛情, 或是任何讓人不可自拔的人事物.
